There are currently over 1100 real estate listings in the Big Bear CA area. California has one of the most volatile real estate markets in the country and prices are down in the Big Bear area as well. According to Zillow, Big Bear City has dropped about 42% since August 2006.
Big Bear Lake Real Estate prices haven’t dropped quite as much because it’s such desirable property, but nonetheless it’s down a solid 37% since August 2006 according to Zillow.
As an investor, I have learned to purchase real estate through REITs or maybe even a Reit ETF for diversification. However, with prices down so much in places as desirable as Big Bear CA I’m thinking of taking a vacation to look at some nice investment properties.
Since Big Bear Lake is a popular vacation destination and so close to Los Angeles it has a very active real estate market. Therefore, there are several Realtors right in the city of Bear Lake CA and an endless number in the surrounding area.
